Techstars Atlanta unveiled 10 startups entering its 2020 class, and this year's group is unique in that the companies have a little more consumer focus than last year's and they come from both inside and outside the Southeast.
"I visited about 10 of the largest startup cities in the Southeast and met with more than 1,000 founders," Dave Payne, managing director of Techstars Atlanta in Partnership with Cox Enterprises, wrote in a blog post. "And yet, despite this geographic focus, four of the startups selected for this year’s class are headquartered outside of the Southeast."
And, while last year's cohort had only three direct to consumer startups, this time there are seven.
"As with geography, I might begin each year with one direction, but ultimately it comes down to the founders," Payne wrote.

The 13-week accelerator program kicks off Monday; the companies will get mentorship from leaders at Cox Enterprises and others in the tech and startup world. The class has its Demo Day slated for Oct. 19.
