But now, it’s the weekend and you deserve another break. Step away from the computer this weekend, and enjoy one of these events out on the town, from a dinosaur exhibit to a bite-sized theater festival.


Discover the Dinosaurs – Seaport World Trade Center – Take it back to your childhood this weekend with a glimpse into the world of T-Rex. The traveling exhibit, Discover the Dinosaurs, will be in Boston this weekend and feature 60 animatronic replicas of the massive creatures of the past. The exhibit runs through Sunday, January 6th.

First Fridays at the MFA – 6pm – 9:30pm – MFA – Kick off your year with some culture at the MFA’s First Fridays series. Head to the museum for us for art, but also enjoy music, a cash bar, signature cocktails, and tapas. DJ Holtie will also be providing the jams this Friday.


One-Minute Play Festival – 8pm – Boston Playwrights’ Theater – The Boston Playwrights’ Theatre is running the second annual One-Minute Play Festival, an evening dedicated to those with short attention spans. The show features 70 new plays, all under one-minute, written by 40 playwrights from around New England.


Dorchester Winter Famers’ Market –12pm – 4pm – Codman Square – The Second Annual Dorchester Winter Farmers’ Market opens this Sunday afternoon. The farm is unique in that it accepts SNAP/EBT payments, and in partnership with Boston Bounty Bucks program, matches all SNAP purchases up to $10.

Cheese 101 – 5:30pm – 7:30pm – Formaggio Kitchen – If your New Year’s resolution is to improve your cheesy lingo, head over to Formaggio Kitchen on Sunday evening and indulge in their most popular course. You will learn about the history of cheesemaking, as well as how to taste and build your personal cheese palate.
