Rising Sun Noodle House – 6pm – 10pm – District Lounge – Formerly known as the Staff Meal food truck, the restaurant has pivoted, transforming into Rising Sun Tavern. They are hosting a ramen pop-up shop at District tonight in conjunction with noodle ninja Mark O’Leary.
Sex at the Zoo – 6pm – 9pm – Franklin Park Zoo – Ever wonder what goes on behind closed doors at the zoo? This adults-only lecture dives into sex at the zoo, answering questions such as: Do animals find each other appealing or attractive? What are the similarities and differences between human and animal courtship? What can the techniques that animals use to attract mates teach us about friendship and romance?
Pay Your Age Wine Night – 6:30pm – 11pm – Boston Wine School – The Boston Wine Expo may be this weekend, but the Boston Wine School is bringing together wines and wineries you won’t see at the Expo for a special night of tastings. Buy your ticket for $21, then pay the difference in your age, and proceeds go to benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank.
Cry Me A River: Valentine’s Day Hangover Party – 8pm – Hard Rock Café – Boston’s only Justin Timberlake tribute band, The Timberfakes, are hosting a day-after Valentine’s Day concert in which you can rage to all your favorite JT songs.
Ski Bash Boston – 9pm – The Harp – Head to The Harp for a party celebrating all things ski. There will be prizes, lift tickets, ski gear and apparel, food specials, Long Trail beer samples, and live music.
Boston Wine Expo – 1pm – 5pm – Seaport World Trade Center – Calling all oenophiles! The Boston Wine Expo is in town, bringing Bostonians hundreds of wines to sip, share and enjoy. The Expo continues on Sunday from 1pm – 5pm. Stay tuned for more BostInno coverage on the Expo later today.
Valentine’s Bar Crawl – 12pm – 7:30pm – Crawl in Boston is hosting a Valentine’s pub crawl in Faneuil Hall. Guests are encouraged to wear something red, pink or black and can expect drink specials, koozies, candy necklaces, lip balm, a photo booth and more!
TWSS Valentine’s Day Bash – 8pm – The North Star – The “That’s What She Said Boston” crew is hosting a Valentine’s themed bash featuring Beefeater and Absolut specialty drink tastings, UNREAL Candy and fun giveaways.
Copy Cat Festival – 12pm – 7pm – Arts at the Amory – Cat lovers, Sunday is your day to shine. The Somerville Arts Council is hosting an “event to celebrate the profound cultural contributions of cats.” The day will include cat videos, cat stories, cat limericks and a slideshow of local cats.
Lamb Jam Boston – 3pm – 6pm – Charles Hotel – Twelve of Boston’s top chefs, plus chefs from Rhode Island and Maine, will gather to cook delicious variations on lamb. There will be local breweries on tap, wine from 90+ Cellars and proceeds go to benefit Lovin’ Spoonfuls.
Raise the Roof! Benefit Concert for Higher Ground Farm – 7pm – Villa Victoria Center for the Arts – Boston’s first rooftop farm, Higher Ground Farm, is hosting a benefit concert to help raise money for their Green Roof Installation Project. Musical guests include Lake Street Dive, Kings, Kellen Zakula and My Gay Banjo, and they promise it will be a “barnstomper.”
