So, spring was supposed to be here by now. The new season officially started on Wednesday, but as I gaze out the window, I can tell you with certainty that it’s not here. Given these circumstances, I only gave you two outdoor events to attend this weekend. Just two, that’s it. Other than that, you are free to stay bundled up indoors.

Friday

Women in Comedy Festival – Various times & locations – Want to laugh this weekend? The 5th annual Women in Comedy Festival is here to make you do just that. Check out headliners like Rachel Dratch and Maria Bamford, as well as a slew of other local and national performers.

PAX East – Boston Convention & Exhibition Center – The annual PAX East convention has once again descended upon the Hub. The gaming industry – from developers to creators to enthusiasts – are invited to the BCEC to celebrate their passion.

Indies Need Booze – 6pm – 11pm – Asgard – In conjunction with PAX East, Gaming in Public invites local developers and indie gamers to celebrate the conference and drink the night away.

Indochino Pop-Up Shop – 234 Clarendon St. – Vancouver-based Indochino is opening its Boston pop-up shop on Friday night, featuring men’s custom suits for awesome prices. They’ll be in town until April 15th, making the gentlemen of Boston all the more dapper. To learn more, check out this post here.

Saturday

New Balance/DCR Social Media Contest – 9am – 12pm – Hatch Shell at the Esplanade – New Balance invites Boston-area runners, joggers and walkers to stop by the New Balance Tent on Saturday for drinks and snacks. Additionally, tweet at @NBBackBay and let New Balance know how you think #nbrunsbos for the chance to win a new pair of running sneakers.

Harpoon Helps Cupid Splash – 12pm – BCYF Curley Community Center in South Boston – Jump into the ocean for charity! The 3rd annual Cupid Splash takes place on Saturday to benefit Save the Harbor / Save the Bay. After the dip, enjoy Tasty Burger and Harpoon beer to warm you up.

Chef’s Course Dinner & a Movie – 6pm – Revere Hotel – In advance of Cochon 555 (see below), the Revere Hotel is hosting a movie night. Indulge in a delicious five-course dinner by five of the area’s top chefs, served during a private screening of “Anchorman.”

The Loft Sessions – 7pm – 10pm – Studio Soto – Join the Loft Sessions for an evening of art, culture and innovation. Saturday’s session features author Howard Bloom and music by The Stretch Collective.

One Brick Boston Anniversary Party – 7pm – 9pm – Flat Top Johnny’s – One Brick Boston is a nonprofit group that coordinates volunteer opportunities for locals. They are celebrating their first anniversary with a party on Saturday, featuring raffle prizes, brews from Slumbrew and more.

Sunday

Cochon 555 Boston –5pm – Revere Hotel – Cochon 555 pits five local chefs against one another, challenging them each to prepare a menu using a whole pig, nose-to-tail. Tickets are pricey, but well worth it if you’re into pork.
