Earlier this week, I was getting kind of bored of May. Summer is still a few weeks away, and Mother Nature is doing her best to remind us of that with the horrific storms yesterday (which are supposed to continue on Saturday, mind you). Anyway, I was feeling down, so I did what anyone would do — Google what happened on this day in history.
On May 10, 1869, the transcontinental railroad was completed, connecting the Union Pacific and Central Pacific railroads and making East to West travel more accessible for all! Luckily, now we have airplanes.
