Five months after closing a seed round worth $1.4 million, Torii Properties, the millennial-focused real estate startup based in Boston, is launching in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Torii has an office in San Francisco already. When the startup spoke to BostInno for first-look coverage of its seed round in August, co-founders James Rogers and Zach Gorman were both based in San Francisco; their co-workers were all in Boston.

"The decision to expand into the Bay Area was a logical step in our growth strategy,” Rogers, the company's CEO, said in a statement. "Some of the biggest technology companies in the USA have offices in both Boston and San Francisco, and it’s critical that we meet clients where their jobs take them. We're thrilled to head into 2020 with the ability to do real estate sales in the Bay Area."

Torii's main product is a real estate app that promises to guide users through all the steps of home-buying through with ease. It’s aimed at Millennials who have the cash to purchase a home but are new to the process.

In addition to allowing potential homebuyers to discover properties on the market, the app also serves as a platform for all documents, the functionality to make an offer and real-time updates on outstanding offers.

The San Francisco Bay Area is the startup's second market, after Boston. Rogers said in August that he hopes Torii can launch in a few more markets over the next year.
