It’s the final countdown.

Tech Madness Boston has come to the last chapter — a face-off between the two startups that have survived all the stages of the competition, which started in early March with 64 companies in the private bracket. Same thing in the public bracket, which is now reduced to the last two public companies standing.

With a total of more than 116,652 votes, the private bracket now sees Notarize, a startup that connects customers with licensed remote notaries online, versus botkeeper, an automated bookkeeping service.

In the last round, Notarize emerged as the winner against ezCater with 3,293 votes, and Botkeeper beat WordStream with… exactly 3,293 votes. Moreover, the two finalists have something else in common: they’re both services that try to speed up the bureaucracy of certain tasks, like getting a document legally notarized or keeping a company’s financial documents in order.

With over 22,000 votes for the public bracket, we have made it to the final two. The last contestants are TripAdvisor and LogMeIn, which beat athenahealth and Pegasystems, respectively. The honor for the company gathering more votes for this round goes to LogMeIn with 1,182 votes.
