Boston Beer enthusiasts can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Fortunately, the 4th Annual Local Craft Brewfest you’ve all been waiting for is back on. After the event’s delay due to the government shutdown last month (oh yeah, remember that?), the local event put on by the Sustainable Business Network is finally happening this Friday, November 22.

For those who don’t remember, the Local Craft Brewfest was originally scheduled for October 12 and according to a press release, the SBN’s executive director, Laury Hammel, stated that the “last minute cancellation is a major setback for our organization in terms of costs and attendance.”

But setback no longer – the beer show will go on this weekend. The Local Craft Brewfest is one big celebration of all things local – and most especially, of local brewers, cideries and distilled spirits. Even local food producers are getting into the action including American Flatbread, Taza Chocolate and Chelsea Fire Hot Sauce, among others.

The Brewfest’s theme “Eat Local. Drink Local. Be Local.” is perfectly fitting for the event which will feature over 50 craft beer tastings and more than 20 local distillery tastings. Some of the distilleries will include Bully Boy Distilleries, Turkey Shore Distilleries and WhistlePig Whiskey.

And if whiskey isn’t your thing (but, really?) then you’ll certainly enjoy getting your buzz on with Battle Road Brewing, Baxter Brewing, Blue Hills Brewery, Mayflower Brewing, Narragansett Brewing and Peak Organic, among others. After all, we’re pretty lucky that our own state is home to some of the best craft breweries and distilleries in the country. And we think that warrants celebration.

The Local Craft Brewfest will be happening from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. this Friday at the John J. Moakley Courthouse in Fort Point, Boston. Tickets are still available, so buy yours before they sell out and check out the pictures (below) from previous Brewfests. Cheers!
