With food festivals and dance parties galore, this summer weekend in Boston will be anything but boring. Here’s what we recommend penciling in over the next few days.
3rd Annual Boston JerkFest – June 26 to June 27 – Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology – The Boston JerkFest will celebrate all things spicy and hot at this outdoor/indoor, Caribbean-style foodie festival. The festival will feature local Jamaican jerk spiced food and entertainment for the whole family. Ticket price varies.
City of Cambridge Dance Party 2015 – 7 to 11 p.m. – Cambridge City Hall – This weekend, thousands of Cambridge residents will gather in front of Cambridge City Hall for this annual dance extravaganza. Admission is free.
Friday Night Flicks at the Lawn on D – 7:45 to 11 p.m. – The Lawn on D – Head to the Lawn on D every Friday evening at sunset in June for featured films playing under the stars. Each Friday night, they’ll kick off the evening with a playlist of songs from the movie and about an hour before each film begins different local bands will perform live. Admission is free.
Short Path Distillery Grand Opening – Noon to 9 p.m. – Short Path Distillery – Old-world distilling techniques meet new-world science at Short Path Distillery, the first craft distillery to open in Everett since prohibition. After months of work converting an antique factory into a state of the art distillery, bar and showroom, SPD is celebrating its opening weekend with an open house this Saturday. Visitors will enjoy tastings of SPD’s signature gin and rum, experience the art of science-based distilling, and snack on treats from food trucks. Admission is free.
18th Annual Taste of Allston – Noon to 3 p.m. – Harvard Murr Center – Head to Allston this weekend for food and drink samples from some of Allston’s best restaurants. Tickets are $25.
Republic Fitness Bootcamp on the Greenway – 10 to 11 a.m. – Republic Fitness – This summer, Republic Fitness is headed outdoors. Every Saturday at 10:15 a.m., a Tabata bootcamp will take place on the Rose Kennedy Greenway (at the Rowes Wharf Plaza). Admission is free.
The Great Boston Beer Marathon – 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. – House of Blues – The 10th Annual Great Boston Beer Marathon is taking place this weekend through The Fenway and Allston neighborhoods. The marathon will include 26 different bars, free ping pong, bowling, billiards, celebrity DJs, contests, benefit drawings, Terminator Genysis, food specials – all benefitting the National MS Society. Tickets are $30.
12th Annual Chinatown Main Street Festival – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Chinatown – This weekend’s festival will include Lion dances, martial arts, vendor booths, crafts and more. Admission is free.
John Hancock Fenway Fantasy Day – 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. – Fenway Park – Head to Fenway Park this Saturday for the John Hancock Fenway Fantasy Day to benefit the Jimmy Fund. The 24th annual, day-long event attracts baseball fans of all ages to experience the excitement of playing at Fenway in support of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. Ticket price varies.
Benefit Brunch & Lunch at Legal Oysteria – June 28 to June 29 – Legal Oysteria – Legal Oysteria will host an Italian brunch and lunch services to benefit the local community of Charlestown this Sunday and Monday. Beneficiaries of the fundraiser include the Monument Square Neighborhood Association and the Friends of the Training Field. Tickets are $10.
Paint Nite to Host First Nude Model Event – 3:30 p.m. – Davis Square Theatre – Paint Nite, the international leader in the social painting space, is hosting its first event with a live nude male model in Boston at Davis Square Theatre on Sunday. During the two-hour event, a Paint Nite artist will guide participants through painting the human form, while drawing inspiration from a nude male model. Tickets are $55.
Three Day Rule’s #BostonInWhite Party – 1 to 5 p.m. – The Yard at The Liberty Hotel – Matchmaking company, Three Day Rule, is teaming up with the popular dining app Reserve to host more than 250 folks dressed in white at The Liberty Hotel’s secret outdoor party spot, The Yard. This weekend’s event will include cocktails and entertainment. Tickets start at $10.
