Whether you’re running the Boston Marathon or just really enjoy pasta (me!), Boston has plenty of carbo-loading specials available this weekend. Here are a few we think are worth fueling up on before Marathon Monday.
Anthem Kitchen & Bar – This Faneuil Hall eatery is offering an as-many-as-you-can-eat pasta dish of orecchiette pasta with roasted vegetables in a light tomato cream sauce for just $15 on April 19 and April 20.
Bambara – Bambara is offering a carb-centric pasta feast on Sunday, April 19. Runners and pasta enthusiasts alike are invited to dine on all-you-can-eat pasta, served family-style in a selection of sauces, proteins and pasta types. The special costs $20 per person.
Bastille Kitchen – This Fort Point restaurant is helping runners fuel up with a protein packed pasta special this Saturday through Monday. The Lamb Spätzle with English peas, fava beans and pickled ramps will be available for $24 on their dinner menu.
Beacon Hill Bistro – From Friday, April 17 to Sunday, April 19, Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro will be offering runners a relaxing, healthy and gourmet selection of carbo-laden specials in both appetizer and entree size portions.
Bistro du Midi – The Back Bay restaurant is serving a pasta special dubbed the Duck Bolognese this weekend. The dish is made with house made garganelli pasta, ground duck and spicy pork sausage. The special will be featured on the menu April 17 though April 20.
Coppa – This Saturday, April 18, the South End enoteca will be hosting Somerville newcomers “Better Bagels” pop-up to help marathon runner fuel up for the race this year. The pop-up will start at 9 a.m.; Bagels are $3 each.
Kirkland Tap & Trotter – All runners need to do is show their runner’s passports or bib and they can get bottomless pasta. Buy a small bowl and it’s all you can eat this weekend. Then on Monday, April 19, all runners who show their medal or bib eat free.
Met Back Bay – On Sunday, April 19, The MET Back Bay will be offering a variety of carb-heavy specials for Boston Marathon runners. Diners can enjoy the Marathon Pasta Special, featuring Not Your Nonna’s Carbonara, served with rigatoni, chicken meatballs, pecorino and egg yolk for $23.
Miel Brasserie Provencale – This restaurant, located in the Intercontinental Hotel, will be hosting its annual Pasta Strong dinner on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19. From 4 to 11 p.m., diners can enjoy salad, pasta and dessert for $38.
Pastoral – This Fort Point pizzeria is creating a Carbo-Loading Menu for marathon runners on Sunday, April 19. Folks can enjoy an endless pasta bowl for $24 and all-you-can-eat pizza for $23. The deal is available from 4:30 to 9 p.m.
Pauli’s – Head to the North End for Pauli’s pre-marathon carbo-load day on Sunday, April 19, 2015. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the restaurant will be serving up mac ‘n cheese, ziti pastas and eggplant parmigiana.
Restaurant dante – Chef Dante de Magistris invites guests to carbo-load with Restaurant dante’s annual All You Can Eat Pasta Marathon special on Sunday, April 19. Dishes include Basil Pesto with chitarra pasta, Tomato Basil with tufoli pasta, Aglio e Olio with spaghettoni pasta or Zucchine with strozzapreti pasta.
The Varano Group Restaurants – Strega Waterfront, Strega North End and Nico will all be offering a half-portion of Fettuccini Strega for just $15 this Marathon Weekend. The dish comes with fresh fettuccini pasta, jumbo shrimp, sea scallops and wilted spinach tossed in creamy Strega sauce.
