Imagine working for a company that takes the extra step to make sure you’re living to your healthiest potential. An organization that goes beyond removing vending machines and sets up healthy initiatives and provides ongoing education for its employees.
Enter Boston-based Veson Nautical, the leading provider of software solutions for the commercial maritime industry.
As part of a new focus on creating an active work environment, Veson is partnering with Boston-based Wellable to take its employee wellness program, called the ‘Olympics’, to the next level. Gone are the days of spreadsheets and emails in order to promote these interoffice fitness-oriented games. Through their collaboration with Wellable, Veson employees will be able to track their healthy living progress through wearable tech — an extremely functional upgrade for this busy team.
Fitbit devices and other mobile technology such as the RunKeeper app will be a large part of how the Veson Olympics will be monitored throughout the two-week healthy living event. These Olympics involve both team and individual health-inspired activities and challenges, which not only encourage healthy behavioral change but also fuel team building within the office.
In a statement about this new partnership, Barry Hartunian, Veson Nautical Vice President Human Resources, said:
We are excited to be partnering with Wellable as part of our annual Veson Olympics program. Veson Nautical is always looking for fun and innovative ways to promote health and fitness for our rapidly growing Team across the globe. As a Boston-based software company, we are delighted, at the same time, to be supporting the local start-up community.
Participants from Veson’s global offices in Boston, London and Singapore are participating in the Olympics, which kicked off on Monday. Veson employees earn Wellable Points for engaging in health and fitness activities. They have the opportunity to win prizes for their participation.
As president of Wellable, Nick Patel properly stated:
Our collaboration with Veson is a great example of two innovative technology companies working together to achieve employee wellness goals. It’s great to see a local Boston company like Veson emerge as a leader in promoting a culture of health and wellness.
Let the health and fitness games begin!
