With cronuts being all the rage in the food world as of late, it’s no surprise to see a bunch of variations on the trend, and Boston restaurants are no exception. In the latest invention, Beacon Hill’s Griddler’s Burgers & Dogs is teaming up with Somerville’s Union Square Donuts to launch the first ever ‘Bronut.’
What’s a Bronut, you ask? Why, it’s a doughnut-burger, of course! This gluttonous snack involves a Griddler’s burger patty, garnished with a sizzling fried egg and smashed between a maple bacon glazed doughnut that serves as the “bun.” Is it a grossly awesome combination? Yes. Should you try one? Absolutely.
The Bronuts cost $6 each, and will be available at Griddler’s on a limited basis beginning July 6th. It will only be available on Saturdays and Sundays, which is perfect for you to work into your weekend brunch plans.
During the week, unfortunately, you will have to suffer Bronut withdrawals. Dunkin’ Donuts Glazed Donut Breakfast Sandwich may come in handy, but it’s definitely the lesser choice when compared to the glorious Bronut.
Stay tuned for photos of the Bronut!
