Call me Kitty Cat.

Young men of Cambridge, I have some news that may get you purring. According to a new study, Cambridge has been named the “cougar capital” of Massachusetts.

The data comes from CougarLife.com, a website that matches cougars – “Divorcees, Single Moms and Sexy Singles” – with young men, or “cubs.” The site’s research says that Cambridge has more cougars than any other city in the Bay State, led by two prominent factors:

  • Cambridge has two times as many cougars compared to any other city in Massachusetts
  • On average, Cambridge’s cougars date three times as many cubs as Springfield, the next most active cougar city

From the press release:

CougarLife has experienced a surge of new member sign-ups in the past year, particularly in university towns such as Cambridge, where young male students attending the prestigious Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology consider the cougar-cub dynamic particularly attractive.

Me-ow.

The data also reveals that there are nearly 20,000 cougars in Massachusetts signed up for CougarLife.com. The site boasts 3 million members worldwide.

“What was once an older predatory woman haunting college bars is now a successful, independent woman who needs a younger man to keep up with her- in all aspects of life,” Claudia Opdenkelder, President of CougarLife.com, said in a press release.

CougarLife.com is run by the same media company that operates Ashley Madison, a dating website that facilitates adultery.
