Local food truck Paris Creperie is already known for its French treats, but soon, it could also be known as one of the best designed food trucks in the country.
The pink truck painted with whimsical black, Parisian designs has been nominated in Mobile Cuisine Magazine’s Best Food Truck Graphic Design contest, in which 15 mobile eateries from around the country are competing for the title of coolest-looking truck. Nick Mallia of Paris Creperie tells BostInno he decided to enter the truck after seeing a tweet from Mobile Cuisine about the contest and requesting submissions. “So, I did that,” he says.
After learning they were in the running, Mallia noticed there were no other Boston food trucks on the list, and thought, “Oh wow, this presents a really cool opportunity for us,” to represent Boston in the entire contest.
Seeing as it’s a voter-driven contest, the Paris Creperie team took to social media to rally local support for their beautiful truck, “I think that’s why we’re in the lead,” says Mallia, speaking of their 650+ votes – the highest number of votes thus far in the contest. “We’ve got a really great network in the Boston area.”
The truck was designed by Mallia’s sister, Kristen Mallia, a freelance graphic designer. “More than seeing what was in front of me, I saw what was lacking,” he says of how other food truck designs simply don’t utilize all the space the trucks have to offer on their exterior.
“The truck is really a driving billboard,” he adds. “Can you imagine how much money it would cost to rent a billboard in downtown Boston?”
If they win, Paris Creperie will have an exclusive profile on Mobile Cuisine, and Krisetn Mallia will earn one month of free advertising on Mobile Cuisine.
Still, we’re hoping the home team clinches this one – so click here to vote for Paris Creperie! Voting ends Friday, June 8.
