Week 1

Wednesday January 3

TGH Training: This training session lead by Q.J. Shi of Tech Goes Home will review necessary steps in becoming a trainer for the TGH program. This event will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Northeastern Crossing on 1175 Tremont St in Roxbury. This is a free session. Thursday January 4

Exclusive Networking: Young CEOs and Executives: The Boston Singles Society will be hosting this event from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. which promises to give young CEO’s and professionals a chance to connect and receive feedback and insight into their fields. Friday January 5

Social Media Success | BostonSpeaksSeries: BostonSpeaks hosts this monthly panel breakfast for any entrepreneur interested in learning the importance of social media for their business. This event will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Impact Hub in 50 Milk St. This is a free event.

Saturday January 6

MetroWest FCC Coffee & Code: Hosted by the MetroWest freeCodeCamp Meetup group, local coders are encouraged to join and meet other local coders. This event will meet at the Water View Village Apartments (Office Building) in the Activity Room in Framingham from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Attendance is free.

The Inaugural MIT-Tsinghua Innovation Summit: MIT CEO is organizing this event to bring entrepreneurs, executives, investors and academic leaders on the topic of innovation. This summit will take place in the MIT Wong Auditorium on 2 Amherst Street from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Student tickets begin at $40 and professional tickets begin at $70.

Week 2

Monday January 8

Understanding and Using APIs: NEASIST encourages all who would like to learn more about application programming interfaces to attend this event which will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Simmons College in the Main College Building on the 3rd floor. Tickets range from $30 – $75.

Open Project Night: Action Design Boston is organizing an Open Project event with Impact Hub from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for anyone in the community to come and collaborate on ideas and projects or if you’re just interested in what people are working on. Bitcoin Meetup: This bitcoin meetup will meet at Veggie Galaxy on 450 Massachusetts Ave from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. There is currently a waitlist for this event.

Tuesday January 9

Funding Your Startup or Small Business: Riley Rodgers, SCORE mentor and principal at Valia Investments will lead this session to give attendees an overview of financing sources, equity, debt, and alternative options for startups and small businesses. This event will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Newton Free Library on 330 Homer Street. Registration information located on the Eventbrite page.

How to build a self-funded Startup?: StartupBlink Boston will host this online webinar from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and will discuss how to create a sustainable business without raising money from investors. Registration and more information located on the meetup page.

Boston New Technology Startup Showcase #BNT85: Hosted by Boston New Technology, this event will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Dassault Systems/Solidworks on 185 Wyman St in Waltham and will feature 7 new innovative tech products. Tickets range from free to $99.

Boston Amazon Web Services Meetup: The Boston Amazon Web Services Meetup group will host this event from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Organizers will update event information closer to the date. RSVP on the meetup page.

Intro to App Building with Salesforce: Girl Develop It Boston will be hosting this session on everything you need to know about Salesforce from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Alley on 10 Ware St. Tickets are $65.

Wednesday January 10

Boston Tech “Holiday” Co-Party: Hosted at The Grand in the Seaport, this holiday bash is a community event of food & cocktails, DJs, and connecting with other startups. Tickets start at $45, which includes 2 drink coupons plus food. Check out the event page for more info.

Girl Develop It Teaching Assistant Training: Hosted by Girl Develop It is offering a training session for current and prospective Girl Develop It teaching assistants for an overview on volunteer teaching assistant opportunities. This will take place at Upstatement on 133 Portland St from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This event currently has a waitlist.

Why Give Up Equity When You Can Fund Your Startup With Alternative Funding?: The Startup Coalition is hosting this event for prospective entrepreneurs to learn more about alternative options to funding a startup. Taking place at WeWork on 745 Atlantic Ave, this event will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m and is free.

Thursday January 11

Greentown Labs EnergyBar: Global Center Preview!: Greentown Labs is showcasing their new incubation space at 444 Somerville Ave in Somerville from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for the cleantech community to preview and tour along with networking with cleantech industry professionals. Registration is free.

Boston Startup Showcase: Hosted by GSVlabs, this showcase will feature technology thought leaders and 10 Seed/Series A startups focusing on digital health, edtech, cybersecurity, the internet-of-things and fintech. From 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., this event will take place at GSVlabs Boston at 2 Avenue de Lafayette on the 4th floor. Registration is free.

Startup Institute Boston: Build A Career You Love in Tech: The Startup Institute will host this event from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Startup Institute’s space on the 17th floor of 50 Milk St. on how the Startup Institute has helped alumni with their own ventures in various fields. This is a free event.

Monday January 15

Informal Android Developer Meetup (Boston Edition): This bi-weekly event is hosted at Jaho Coffee Roasters & Wine Bar by Boston GDG and Boston Android, Android developers will meet to chat about mobile technologies from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. RSVP on the meetup page.

HackerNest Boston January Tech Social: This HackerNest event is a chance for attendees to connect and socialize with the local tech community. This event will be hosted at Canopy City on the third floor on 14 Tyler St in Somerville from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets range from free to $5.

ARIA (Augmented Reality In Action):  Hosted at the MIT Media Lab the 16th and 17th, join the conversation and collaboration between the industry innovators, thought leaders, investors, and corporations working to bring the benefits of AR to the world. Mass Innovation Nights 106: Hosted by Innovation Nights at at UMass Lowell Innovation Hub at Harbor Place in Haverhill from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., showcasing 12 products for an all manufactured products event. RSVP on the event’s page.

Hiring Do’s and Don’ts: Top Ten Hiring Mistakes of Entrepreneurs: Hosted by The Village Works on 202 Washington St in Brookline from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. this first in two part series will help entrepreneurs what to identify and watch out for when hiring for their business. Registration is free.

Google Brain: Neural Networks with Tangent: Boston Data Science will host this event from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at CIC Cambridge on the 5th floor on 1 Broadway and will feature speaker Alex Wiltschko, who is a research scientist at Google Brain, focusing on building more flexible machine learning software systems, and also applications of machine learning to biology. Webinar: Product Management for the Internet of Things: This webinar organized by Product Management Boston will feature a talk by Daniel Elizalde, an IoT Product Leader with over 17 years of experience managing the complete lifecycle of connected products who will talk about  the building blocks of the IoT technology stack from a PM perspective, including smart devices, cloud platforms, and cloud applications. This webinar will run from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. EST and is free to attend.

Boston Unofficial Trailblazer Happy Hour: Lizzard Tech Corp will host this event at Kinsale Irish Pub & Restaurant at 2 Center Plaza from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will feature opportunities to connect and socialize with salesforce users and professionals. This is a free event.

Current & Future Trends in Tech & Innovation: South Shore Innovation will host this panel event on everything happening in the world of tech and future projections. This event is taking place at West of Chestnut on 21 Chestnut St in Quincy from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. South Shore Innovation is asking for donations between $5-$50 to cover overhead fees in lieu of ticket costs. Tech Ladies Boston Speed Networking sponsored by HubSpot: Hosted by Tech Ladies and sponsored by HubSpot, this event will feature speed networking with fellow ladies in tech and will take place at HupSpot’s office at 2 Canal Park from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10.

Tuesday January 23
