If you’ve felt like Boston tech salaries haven’t moved that much recently, you’re not alone.

According to a new report released on Thursday by career site Hired, tech salaries in the city have been relatively flat compared to other tech hubs. The report found that the average Boston tech salary in 2017 was $118,000, down from $120,000 in 2015 and roughly the same as it was in 2016. That puts Boston behind when compared to Hired’s markets as a whole, which saw an average salary increase of 5 percent.

The report reached these conclusions based on an analysis of more than 420,000 interview requests facilitated through Hired’s job marketplace, which included more than 10,000 participating companies and 69,000 job seekers. A Hired representative said the company could not break down specific numbers for Boston for competitive reasons but added that the city’s sample size was large enough to reach a conclusion.

While Boston’s average tech salary in 2017 was lower than San Francisco ($142,000), Seattle ($132,000), Los Angeles ($129,000) and New York ($128,000), the report found that the dollars earned in Boston stretched further than in San Francisco when accounting for the San Francisco Bay Area’s cost of living. However, if you wanted to make the most of how much you earn, the report said Austin is the best spot.
