Today marks the official start of fall. And while we haven’t had the typical crisp fall weather lately (not with 70 degree temps and the leaves securely fastened to the tree branches), we are unquestionably in the midst of fall football season. So, where can you find a brunch that feels like fall, combining the best elements of American and international brunch foods, brews and sports?

The answer is Ducali Pizzeria & Bar, where you can find Autumnal Equinox celebrations and the perfect fall brunch combo. The Boston establishment – adorned with a classic copper countertop bar, rustic wood tables and the well-known local-celebrity “tagged” graffiti wall – will be serving up fresh brunch items just in time for football. And not just NFL football, but Italian “football” (i.e. Serie A calcio) as well. Because, after all, with American football not starting until 1pm –  you might as well fill those morning hours with something besides tweaking your fantasy line-up.

It’s Tipsy Time — Here are the Brunch Buzz Deets

Come watch Italian “football” from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and American football from 1 p.m. through the rest of the day.

Where and Wear

Ducali Pizzeria & Bar is located at 289 Causeway Street in Boston. Very convenient to the North End and TD Garden area locals.

To truly get into the Football Sunday brunching spirit, I would highly recommend donning your favorite team jersey (preferably Pats attire). Or, if you’re heading to Ducali for the international feel – make sure to wear your European football club paraphernalia, sure to ignite conversation with your neighbors.

What to Eat

This isn’t a difficult decision. When in Rome… eat pizza for breakfast. That’s right, Ducali is well-known for their wide assortment of delicious Breakfast Pizzas. For brunch, I’d recommend the Pizza Ducale with potato, pancetta, mozzarella & egg. Or the Pizza Abbruzzese with sausage, onion, mozzarella & egg. Personally, I love pizza for breakfast, especially when it’s not left over from the night before.

And you can pair the pizzas perfectly with…

The Brunch Buzz Drink

Forego Ducali’s  Mimosas and Bellinis for their beer flights. Normally I wouldn’t recommend something as simple as beer for your brunch buzz drink, but Ducali is an exception. At this brunch, you can choose from either a flight of Massachusetts brew or an “Around the World” multi-regional brew flight to pair with your pizzas. The flights offer guests a selection of five, 4-ounce pours.

So whether you’re rooting for a Hail Mary or a bicycle kick, just make sure you’re doing it with a Ducali brunch buzz.
