Here’s a quick update for everyone who likes awesome burgers and booze drinks: jm Curley will be re-opening its doors in a matter of days.
The popular restaurant, located on Temple Place just off the Boston Common, was forced to close in mid-February after a burst pipe caused extensive damage:
A frozen sprinkler head BURST above our beloved Curley’s, and its keeping us busy… we will be CLOSED until further notice, sorry folks!

From their website:
A pipe burst above our space caused us to close. We are working hard to fix the damage and reopen ASAP. We look forward to serving you when we emerge from this situation. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you need to get in touch with us, feel free to email us.
— Mayor Curley
PS: Twitter would have been great to have when I was running for office in the early 20th century. More news: @jmcurleybar
Thankfully, according to the company’s Twitter handle, they’ll be re-opening sometime this month.

To hold you over, they’ve graciously provided a copy of “Curly’s LAW & ORDER,” offering such wisdom as this:
- “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s date … nor his grub, nor his cocktail.”
- “No loud shrieking.”
- ‘The customer is NOT always right.”
- “It’s food and drink. Not life and death. Don’t take yourself too seriously. We don’t.”
Good to have you back, Mr. Mayor.
