It’s a snow day for many Bostonians, and that means we’re likely to stay cooped up indoors, watching the inches accumulate from the cozy warmth of our living rooms. But other New Englanders take to the snow much more heartily – they want to get out there and play.

If you’re one of those brave Bostonians who love to venture out in the snow, the Rose Kennedy Greenway is inviting you to join them and the Boston Harbor Hotel on the green space right across from the hotel. They’re throwing the first-ever #SnowMob, which plans to bring Boston together to have snowball fights, make snow angels and snowmen, or just enjoy the great outdoors as we wait out Winter Storm Nika.

The festivities will kick off today at 3 p.m., giving you plenty of time to finish up any work you’re doing from your couch and suit up in layers of jackets and socks before heading outdoors. Participating ‘Snow-Mobsters’ will also have the opportunity to win prizes from the hotel, like an overnight stay and a 10-pack of Carousel tickets, if they capture their snow day on the Greenway on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #SnowMob.

In addition, complimentary hot cocoa will be served to keep snow dwellers warm inside the Magellan Gallery of the Boston Harbor Hotel from 3 to 5 p.m., so get out there and embrace the snow – because clearly, it’s been quite persistent.

Snow angels not your cup of cocoa? Here’s BostInno’s official Winter Storm Nika Drinking Game. Have fun!
