In true MVP fashion, LeBron James scored 45 points in Game 6, falling just shy of Dwayne Wade’s franchise record of 46 points in a postseason game. On top of the points, James also had 15 rebounds and five assists, singlehandedly forcing a Game 7 in Miami. No matter what happens tonight, James told CBS Sports, “I won’t regret Game 7.”
The series has gone back and forth, leaving both teams tired, bruised and battered. Miami won the first two games, then lost three straight before James helped the Heat beat Boston on their own court in the TD Garden.
If the Celtics don’t win tonight, it could be the last chance for everyone to see the Big Three in action. Yet, Paul Pierce has remained positive saying, “It’s been tough for us all year long to get to the point where we would be at, and why wouldn’t it be tough now? Winning is hard. Trying to get to the finals is hard. And this is as hard as it gets. And I think we are prepared for it.”
Both teams are expected to come out strong. For the Celtics, this will be their seventh Game 7 in the last five years. They’ve been 4-2 in the previous match-ups, including a home win over Philadelphia in the last round of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Tonight’s going to be a battle, and whoever wins will be going straight to Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder in the NBA Finals. You won’t want to miss it.
