Tonight could be the night for the Boston Celtics, as they gear up to beat the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. Boston leads the Celtics Heat series 3-2, and could take home the Eastern Conference Championship tonight at the TD Garden if Kevin Garnett keeps sinking threes and Rajon Rondo continues to penetrate the paint. If the Boston Celtics beat the Miami Heat in Game 6, they’ll go on to play the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals. If they lose — which we don’t even want to admit could be an option — they’ll travel back to Miami to play the Heat on their turf on Saturday, June 9th, at 8:30 p.m.

Although tonight’s a big night for the Celtics, it might be an even bigger night for LeBron James. His entire legacy is on the line. Who cares how Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh play? If the Heat lose, it always falls on King James’ shoulders, and we doubt he can stop himself from crying if the team takes that big of an embarrassing downfall two years in a row.

The Celtics’ will likely rely on Rondo’s assists, Garnett’s intensity and Brandon Bass’ jumpshot. The combination, however, hasn’t proved them wrong yet. Say what you will, but we’ve heard it before: the Celtics are an aging team, but that “age” is really experience, and they’ve laid claim to the best defense in the NBA playoffs thus far. LeBron should be shaking in his tightly-laced sneakers right now, because tonight’s the night we think the Celtics could be making their way to the NBA playoffs.
