Djokovic himself said that the match could go either way. ”I don’t think there’s any clear favorite,” five-time major champion said. ”[Murray is] looking for his first Grand Slam title. I’m sure he’s going to be very motivated, and hopefully we can come up with our best tennis for this crowd.”

While Djokovic leads the head-to-head series against Murray 8-6, he lost their most recent matchup when they played in the semifinals of the London Olympics.

”Most of our matches that we played against each other were very close,” Djokovic said, ”and only small margins decide the winner.”

“I know how tough it is to beat the top, top players in big matches,” Murray said of the rivalry. “I have had some tough losses against him, but also had some big highs against him, as well. So obviously it will be an unbelievably tough match. He moves very well on the hard courts. He’s a top, top player, one of the best players that’s played…I know it’s going to be a very, very, very, very tough match.”

The Serbian took home three Grand Slam trophies last year, and is now the only player to have the opportunity to win two tournaments in 2012.

”In life, you have ups and downs, so I wasn’t really surprised with, if you want to call it, a bit less success,” Djokovic said. ”Regardless of the comparison with these two years, I still think it’s been a fantastic year for me.”
