Ah, Barcelona versus Real Madrid. El Clasico. Arguably the most exciting rivalry in all of sports is being played at 4:30 PM EST today at Camp Nou in Barcelona. Today’s Supoercopa first leg match is the opener of six scheduled El Clasicos in the 2012/2013 season, with the high probability that we will see the teams face off even more in tournament play. If you can’t get to a TV to watch Barcelona v Real Madrid, you can always use ESPN3 to live stream El Classico.

The Supoercopa is far from the most prestigious of tournaments. It is played between the winner of the La Liga Champions (Real Madrid) and the winner of the Copa del Rey (Barcelona).

The cavernous depth of Barcelona’s bench will be on full display today with Alexis Sanchez, Andres Iniesta, David Villa and Gerard Pique all watching from the sideline. Despite the insignificance of the Supercopa,  the team’s new manager, Tito Vilanova, should be more than excited for the match.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, will surely look to improve their play since last weekend when they drew Valencia 1-1.

Real Madrid will be without defender Pepe, who was injured in a collision with teammate Iker Casillas on Sunday. Barcelona’s only injured player is Thiago Alcantara, who is sidelined due to a tibia injury.

Predicted Lineups

Barcelona: Valdes, Alves, Puyol, Mascherano, Alba, Xavi, Busquets, Fabregas, Pedro, Messi, Iniesta.

Real Madrid: Casillas, Arbeloa, Albiol, Ramos, Marcelo, Khedira, Alonso, Di Maria, Ozil, Ronaldo, Higuain.
