Lehigh is coming off a near-impossible win over the second ranked Duke Blue Devils, winning by five in a game that ended 75-70. That win alone legitimizes Lehigh as a threat moving forward in the tournament, but if this is as far as they go, the team can head into the offseason knowing they accomplished more than anyone thought they were capable of.

Xavier is coming off a 4-point win over the seventh ranked Notre Dame fighting Irish. As a ten seed facing a 15 seed, this is a matchup of the two lowest ranked teams combined. Very few brackets, if any, had these two teams facing each other for the right to go to the Sweet Sixteen.

Here’s more on this game from SB Nation:

Guard Tu Holloway makes the Musketeers go and he came up big against the Fighting Irish with 25 points.

Lehigh became the tournament darling as the underdog Mountain Hawks knocked off the No. 2 seed Duke Blue Devils in Greensboro, North Carolina. Lehigh just wouldn’t relent as the pressure continued to mount throughout their upset bid as junior guard C.J. McCollum had arguably the tournament’s most impressive performance thus far with 30 points, six assists and six rebounds.

The winner of this game will go on to face the winner of the matchup between Colorado and Baylor to represent the South in the Sweet Sixteen.
