Indiana is coming into this game after a comfortable win over New Mexico State. The game, like most from the first real round of March Madness went pretty much as expected. The higher ranked team, the team that was supposed to win did and now they have a chance at the Sweet Sixteen.

On the other side, however, VCU is a bit of a surprise. The 12 seed upset the fifth seeded Wichita State by a margin of 3 in the opening round. The Rams are the second-lowest ranked team still alive in the South bracket.

Here’s more on this game from SB Nation:

VCU shocked the Wichita State Shockers in their opening game, holding on for a 62-59 victory to advance to the second round. Senior wing Bradford Burgess was the team’s top player in that game, scoring 16 points to go with five rebounds and four assists in the victory.

The Hoosiers are the favorites as they’ve won six of their past seven games, including Thursday’s 13-point victory over the New Mexico State Aggies. Four of the team’s starters scored at least 14 points, but Jordan Hulls led all scorers with 22 points as he connected on four of his six three-point attempts.

The winner of this game will go on to face the winner of the matchup between Kentucky and Iowa State in the Sweet Sixteen.
