Nine-year-old Robby Novak, better known as “Kid President,” has been sharing his mission and videos with the world for months now, but just recently his “Pep Talk” went viral, to the tune of 5.5 million YouTube views and counting.
Watch it here (or below). It’s amazing.
Here are a few marketing lessons you can learn from this little leader.
1. Keep your message simple.
Don’t overcomplicate things. Kid President’s message is simple – give the world a reason to dance and don’t be boring, which brings us to lesson number two.
2. Don’t be boring.
That’s right. As marketers, we all like to think that everything we do is creative and awesome and amazing, which isn’t always the case. Listen to Kid President next time you’re working on a press release, article, new design, etc. If it’s boring, scratch it and start fresh. You’re gooder than that.
3. Video is powerful. So is social media.
Kid President posted his pep talk a week ago and it already has more than 5 million views. Oh, and he may have created the best hashtag ever, #BugJoshGroban, to get an interview with the singer recently. This kid knows how to create powerful videos and use social media to its full potential.
Bonus Lesson: Include awesome dance moves when appropriate, which is almost always.
So, what will be your Space Jam?
