It’s that time of year again: The Harvard iLab let BostInno know in advance the startup finalists in the spring edition of its Venture Incubation Program, a 12-week program for Harvard student-led teams.
As it happened last year, the Spring VIP teams are also semi-finalists in the Harvard President’s Innovation Challenge, which encourages students to create ventures that address pressing issues facing the world, and awards seed money to the top teams. As part of the PIC, the students ventures will compete for $300,000 in funding.
This year, iLab said that it received more than 400 applications. In the end, 93 teams were accepted into the VIP, and 54 percent of them have a female co-founder.
