Yes, it’s Monday. You’re probably tired, and ruing the fact that your weekend fun is once again gone for another five days, but fear not, football fans. This isn’t any average week that you now have to endure. It’s the opening week of Patriots training camp.

What was that? Yes, you heard us correctly: PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP, aka the formal beginning of the beginning of the 2014 NFL season. On Wednesday, veterans report to camp. On Thursday, July 24th at precisely 9:15 a.m., the first full Patriots training camp practice will be open to public (as will other subsequent training camp practices) In other words:

Sure, regular season games are still more than a month away, but don’t focus on that. Focus on the start of a million amazing theoretical conversations that you’re bound to engage in with friends, coworkers, or maybe even people you’re stuck on the T with, all about how Darrelle Revis is going to shut down everyone he lines up across from for the next half year.

Also, fantasy football, and the highly entertaining draft that marks its beginning, is on the horizon.

There will be plenty of time to break down exactly who and what to watch for, but for now, just enjoy the prospect that the wait is almost over.
