Your choices for co-working locations throughout the Boston area just became a little more mixed. Introducing Spaces, an upcoming co-working option owned by Regus that will occupy two-and-a-half floors at 359 Newbury Street.

Construction is currently under way on the airy, brick building that stands right across the street from the Hynes Convention Center Green Line stop. And when it opens on February 13, Spaces will feature:

  • 96 private offices
  • About 390 dedicated desks
  • Four meeting rooms
  • 5,000 square feet of common “business club” space

You won’t be finding ping pong tables and beer kegs in Spaces. But that doesn’t mean the environment will be painfully uptight. They’re looking to strike the perfect balance of enjoying where you work, while still getting work done.

“It’s not a stuffy corporate environment,” Robert Murphy, area manager for Regus, told me. At the same time, he said it’s “more grown up than a WeWork. It will be a place where people will want to work and enjoy working. But they’ll be there to work.”

Murphy told me Spaces will host weekly events and they’ll be setting up a café within the co-working area. Members can benefit from concierge-level hospitality services and on-demand services, like including dry cleaning and IT support.

Prices to work at Spaces varies. According to its website, you can have a dedicated desk or private office for upwards of $525 and $750 per month, respectively. You can also work in its business club $350+ per month.

In addition to the upcoming Boston site, Spaces is opening its doors in multiple U.S. cities, such as Denver, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Dallas, as well as other locations worldwide.
