If you love beer so much, why don’t you marry it?
Now’s your chance to wed your favorite drink, Boston. Well, sort of.
Samuel Adams Brewery has crafted up 350 cases of Brewlywed Ale, a Belgian-style pale golden ale for newlyweds, newly-engaged, old lovers and beer lovers. With only limited amounts of the beer, the brewery is hosting a special event on Thursday, July 26 for your chance to get your hands on the Brewlywed Ale.
Beginning at 7 a.m. tomorrow, don your best wedding dress for the chance to cut in line and get a signed bottle by founder Jim Koch. Then, tour around the Jamaica Plain facilities, enter in some raffles and take advice from wedding experts on call.
Oh, and if you’re feeling particularly romantic (or tipsy), there will be a justice of peace on hand to wed couples on the spot. Talk about a great story to tell your grandkids some day, right?
In a recent blog post, Sam Adams describes the special beer: “A distinct and complex brew, Samuel Adams Brewlywed Ale offers layers of flavor including fruit and honeysuckle notes from the Belgian yeast, sweetness from malt and citrus character from hops.”
Sounds delicious. If anyone’s looking to get hitched, I’ll gladly meet you at the brewery tomorrow. For those of you planning on going, be sure to send us your photos. Bottoms up!
Here’s a look at the day’s full schedule:
7:00AM: Line up at the brewery. The first 20 people to arrive in bridal attire will be moved to the front of the line, ensuring a bottle from the 50 bottles signed by Jim Koch.
9:00AM: Brewery doors open and Samuel Adams Brewlywed Ale is for sale while supplies last.
9:00AM-1:00PM: Wedding menu beer pairing suggestions from Samuel Adams brewers and local food businesses; raffle to have Samuel Adams pick up your rehearsal dinner tab; wedding photo booth; expert advice and answers to wedding questions from TheKnot.com, the #1 wedding website and more.
1:00PM: Last call. Doors close at 1 p.m.
