Senate-hopeful Elizabeth Warren rolls in some pretty swanky circles. Last night the Harvard Law professor and former Obama Administration aide who is hoping to dethrone Scott Brown from his Massachusetts Senate seat held a fundraiser in Santa Monica, CA hosted by Boston-raised studs Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Jon Krasinski.
The event, which was titled “A Massachusetts Evening,” was held in a studio used by J.J. Abrams’ production company Bad Robot.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the night was beyond successful. “Warren’s fundraisers had set a goal of $250,000 for the evening and—with donations ranging between $1,000 and $1,500 per person—they far exceeded that figure.”
Warren has pulled an impressive list of Hollywood heavy-hitters into her corner throughout her campaign. Hollywood Reporter revealed that the guest list of last nights event included Jennifer Garner, Reese Witherspoon, Zach Braff, Tobey Maguire, Ed Zwick, Marshall Herskovitz and more. Through previous events, Warren received financial support from “Barbara Streisand, Steve Bing, and Lorraine and Sid Sheinberg […] Shira Piven, Hans Zimmer, Ron Howard and Will Ferrell.”
The Brown – Warren Senate race already took the title as the most expensive in the nation. Throw Hollywood in the mix and we’re guaranteed a wild ride through November.
