This April, Somerville’s Assembly Row unveiled its 2015 spring and summer schedule with over 170 fashion, food, family and fitness events happening this year. And, we should mention, the majority of them (150 to be exact) happen to be free of charge and open to the public.

For starters, the Somerville neighborhood will be launching a weekly Farmer’s Market from June through October and will feature two summer music series. Returning events will include the eighth annual Riverfest, Petpalooza, Row It Forward, Race to the Row, weekly fitness classes and TEDxSomerville.

But to make your future Assembly Row outings easier to plan, we’ve taken the liberty of rounding up our picks for the best spring and summer events happening at this Somerville hot post.

Step Into Spring Fashion Show

The Hub’s biggest spring fashion event takes place May 1. Attendees can expect the latest styles from Assembly Row retailers, as well as food and beverage samples from Row restaurants. Aricia Symes Elmer from Shift Your Style will curate the show. Tickets are $20, and all proceeds from the event will benefit Project Smile.

Summer Music Series

Assembly Row is launching two music series this summer, including Acoustic Mondays from June 1 through September 28 at The Point. The second music series dubbed LIVE Music Thursdays will run June 4 through September 24 at the amphitheater in Baxter Park.

Assembly Farmers Market

Launching June 7 and running Sundays through October from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., there will be a full lineup of produce vendors, as well as local food producers, musicians, activities and community booths.

Eversource Walk for Boston Children’s Hospital

Scheduled Sunday, June 14, this annual Boston tradition will draw thousands of walkers to Assembly Row – all raising money for the best pediatric hospitals in the country. The event runs along the Mystic River.

Scheduled for late July/early August, Assembly Row and SomDog, Somerville’s responsible dog ownership nonprofit organization, will invite the area’s pets for a two-day family focused festival with pet-centric activities including Dock Dog’s regional competition (swimming, jumping, catching), pet adoptions, training seminars, interactive agility demonstrations, and animal related vendor booths.

Row It Forward

The Second Annual Row It Forward event will take place August 10-23, fusing shopping and giving over two fun, competitive weeks. Receipts translate into points, and the nonprofit with the most points at the end of the program is eligible to win a grand price of $20,000. Non-profit registration begins in April.

Race to the Row

Scheduled for Sunday, August 23, the third annual Race to the Row running event will go through Assembly Row and along the Mystic River. It is hosted by the Somerville Road Runners with proceeds benefiting local nonprofits.

Assembly Row’s Riverfest celebration is scheduled for September 12 this year. The event will feature the best of The Row with live music, art, food, children’s activities and a fireworks show over the Mystic River.

Slumbrew Happy Soles

The American Fresh Brewhouse is featuring a monthly (and free) 5K Fun Run. Free water bottles and a post run buffet are provided to all runners. The event takes place at 11 a.m. on March, 8, April, 12, May, 17, June, 28, July, 26, August 2.

Evolve Boot Camp

If you’re looking to get in bikini-ready shape this summer, head to Assembly Row’s Evolve Boot Camp. The workout will happen on Tuesdays and Thursdays from April through September at 7 p.m.

Riverfront Yoga

Yogis can head to Assembly Row every Saturday at 9 a.m. from May through September for a free yoga class along the Mystic River.
