Even Spiderman couldn’t handle the Boston heat wave this weekend without a cold treat. Actor Tobey Maguire stopped into Allston ice cream shop FoMu on Sunday to dine on some non-dairy sweets:
Maguire has been in the Boston-area filming “Labor Day,” a movie based on the Joyce Maynard. Maguire, a long-time vegetarian and recently minted vegan, popped into FoMu around 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 15 to cool off with some non-dairy ice “cream.” Owner Deena Jalal tells BostInno that Maguire ordered the salted caramel and peanut butter with Oreos and mochi.
“He raved about the ice cream,” says Jalal. “He stayed and enjoyed it in the shop, which is great as well!”
Our intern and fellow vegan Samantha Wood happened to be in the shop when Tobey Maguire walked in yesterday, and immediately thought he looked familiar, saying that she then realized it was indeed the famous actor once she heard his voice. He was friendly and very obliging to fans, she says.
Oh, and ladies, he’s even more attractive in person than in that spider suit. “His eyes are sooo BLUE!,” Wood told me this morning.
“Labor Day” is filming in Shelburne and Medway, Mass., according to Boston.com. Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin are also in the movie, and have been spotted around the Bay State.
