Believe it or not, Marathon Monday is just a little over a week away. And that means it’s time to start planning for the big day. Like most people though, you probably haven’t given your Marathon Monday plans much thought. Where to watch, where to drink, where to eat – it’s a lot to consider.
And when the race is over, what do you do next? Fortunately, The Beehive has your Marathon Monday afternoon and night covered. The South End restaurant plans to host a benefit to raise money for the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Fund on April 21 from 3 p.m. to Midnight.
For those who don’t already know, the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Fund is an organization with the mission of fueling cutting-edge research and clinical programs in trauma healing and limb reconstruction. It was started by the Reny Family, who wished to show gratitude to the doctors at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital that saved their daughter’s life and limbs following the Boston Marathon explosions last year.
But unlike many fundraisers, which only give a portion of the proceeds to a cause, the Beehive will be giving 100 percent of the profits to the organization. That’s right – every single penny will go towards a great cause.
And not only that but guests will also enjoy a great night. The Beehive’s executive chef, Marc Orfaly, plans to prepare plenty of tasty dishes including: Artichoke Parmesan Lasagna, Roasted Blue Cod, and Skirt Steak Frites.
And to wash it down, The Beehive bar will be serving up a variety of craft cocktails like The Queen Bee with Skyy vodka, grapefruit juice, St. Germaine and champagne (my Beehive fave), The Kentucky Orchard with butter-infused bourbon, bitter truth pimento dram and fresh apple cider, and The Arroyo filled to the brim with silver tequila, illegal mezcal joven, agave nectar, black balsam currant and lime. Yum!
We recommend making your reservations now for these Marathon Monday night celebrations. And checking out the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Fund to find out more about the cause.
