Remember allowances when you were a kid? Maybe you got a few bucks a day from your parents? Imagine getting an allowance again as an adult… only this time earning $1,000 a day. For the rest of your life.
That’s the premise of the new Lucky For Life lottery, which premieres today in New England. For just $2, you can win $1,000 a day, or $7,000 a week, before taxes, for the rest of your life, according to the Associated Press.
Want to participate? The Lucky for Life lottery allows players to choose five numbers and a “Lucky Ball,” and winners must match the numbers drawn. While the top prize is $1,000 a day, there are also nine other ways to take home some extra cash, including a one-time prize of $25,000.
Make sure your grandma plays, too, because the $1,000 a day guaranteed for at least 20 years, with heirs receiving whatever isn’t collected by the winner in his or her lifetime.
The Lucky for Life lottery has been played in Connecticut since 2009, and Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine have been collaborating for the past nine months to bring the game to all of New England’s 14.4 million residents. Massachusetts is expected to gain about $18 million after winners are paid out.
While it may not be close to the $336.4 million jackpot that Louise White won last week, I’d happily take it. For $2, you can count me in!
