We’re all feeling a little bit of extra Boston pride today, less than 24 hours after authorities apprehended suspect no. 2 in the Boston Marathon bombings. After rallying in the streets last night and toasting to our brave law enforcement officials, Bostonians woke up to a refreshed city united in a new sense of community.
In honor of this week’s heroes, there will be a “Wear Boston” bar crawl in Faneuil Hall on Saturday afternoon. The premise is simple: wear any and all Boston gear you have to show your love for the Hub. Ranging from Bruins jerseys to Red Sox hats to college sweatshirts, “as long as it says ‘BOSTON’ on it,’ don it, the creators of the event say.
The event is hosted by Crawl in Boston, a group launched in 2003 as a way to create“fun, affordable events in Boston” after experiencing the bar crawls in San Diego.
Crawl in Boston typically donates all their proceeds from events to local charities, and this Saturday’s event is no different. The group is asking for a simple $5 donation on today’s crawl, in which 100 percent of the proceeds will go to The One Fund for the Marathon victims.
Here is the schedule for today’s crawl, which is subject to change:
- 1:00 – Paddy O’s
- 1:45 – The Point
- 2:30 – Hennessy’s
- 3:15 – The Place
- 4:00 – Barney Fanning’s
- 4:45 – Kitty O’Shea’s
- 5:30 – The Stadium
- 6:15 – Sissy K’s
- 7:00 – Hong Kong
- 7:45 – Wild Rover
Crawl in Boston originally had a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crawl planned for this Saturday, which has been moved to next Saturday, April 27. Stay tuned for more details on that.
