The Tech Madness Bracket Challenge is our friendly competition to determine who the city thinks will be the most valuable Chicago tech company in five years.
Last year, Spothero emerged victorious, with Jellyvision, Shiftgig, and HERE rounding out the Final Four. (As a reminder, the goal of Tech Madness is to simply generate awareness and excitement for the city’s top and emerging tech players, from the “favorites” to the “diaper dandies.”)
Here’s how it works: 64 local tech companies will go head-to-head throughout 6 rounds with you, our readers, voting to determine who moves on from every matchup.
Fortunately, the Chicago tech ecosystem is home to WAY more than 64 companies and startups that deserve to be on the 2017 bracket, so, to fill it out this year, we’re holding our version of the “Conference Tournaments.” From today through January 31st, we’re sourcing nominations from the entire community.
So, click here and fill out the form to nominate the company you think most deserves a slot in the bracket. (Nominations should only take 90 seconds; let us know who you want to see cut down the .net.)
The 150+ finalists for the 2017 bracket will be announced on Feb. 2nd and we’ll be hosting a kickoff event in March to reveal the final 64. (More details on that coming VERY soon). We will seed the “teams” based on a variety of factors including how much capital they’ve raised and you can view last year’s complete bracket for a refresher on the rules here.
Finally, if you’d like to align your brand with Tech Madness 2017, please email Josh@Chicagoinno.com for sponsorship opportunities.
One more time – nominate a ‘team’ HERE.
