Groupon

Groupon named Colin Bodell as its chief technology officer. Bodell, a veteran tech executive, was previously the CTO of American Eagle Outfitters. Prior to that he was the CTO at Time, Inc. He has also held several senior technology roles at Amazon, including VP of its Digital Store Platform. Groupon also announced that Steve Krenzer, the former CEO of Core Digital Media, has joined as COO, and Deborah Wahl, the former CMO of McDonald’s, joined the board of directors. Brad Keywell, Groupon’s co-founder and the current CEO of Uptake, left the e-commerce company’s board in November.

CityBase

CityBase, a Chicago-based technology provider that gives people access to government services, has named Josh Mallamud as its new chief operating officer. He’ll be responsible for refining and executing the company’s strategy to drive growth, the company said. Prior to CityBase, Mallamud was the senior vice president at DialogTech, a local software company that provides call analytics to marketers.

Gogo

Gogo, the Chicago-based publicly traded in-flight WiFi provider, announced it has hired airline industry veteran Mark Schwab as its senior advisor of international sales. He previously served as CEO of Star Alliance Services GmbH, and has also held numerous senior positions at United Airlines, US Airways and American Airlines. 

Reverb

Reverb, a Chicago startup that lets you buy and sell music gear, announced it has hired Molly Fannin to run its Reverb Foundation, a nonprofit that will support programs and initiatives that increase access to music education, gear, and opportunities to play. Fannin comes to Reverb after previously working in fundraising roles at the YMCA and DePaul University.

Impact Engine 

Chicago-based Impact Engine announced that RogerLiew is joining the social good-focused VC firm as operating partner. Liew is a well-known technologist in Chicago and is the current chief technology officer at ShopRunner. Prior to that, he was the CTO at Orbitz.
