Continuing our State of Innovation Meetup Series, we kicked off Women in Inno: Filling & Funding the Pipeline, Presented by Perkins Coie on Wednesday night. With the help of 120+ attendees, we took over Outcome Health and opened the dialogue around diversity and inclusivity in the tech industry.
Throughout the night we heard from early stage founders in the Inno Showcase, which consisted of ezza, Genivity, Lystr and Noirefy all sharing their company, progress and plans for growth. The programming continued with Samara Mejia Hernandez and David Vandegrift sitting down with us and talking about their article, “Why Your Boss Is Still a White Guy.” The two expanded on why they wrote the piece, the backlash they received from the article and their plans to continue the dialogue. Closing out the night, local venture capitalists, Alyssa Jaffee with Pritzker Group and Gerri Kahnweiler and Cayla Weisberg with InvestHER sat down with Debra Bernard from Perkins Coie to discuss empowering and funding women entrepreneurs.
A big thank you to everyone who attended, participated and helped make the night a success! Check out some of the best photos and tweets from the event below.
