Each year, Forbes magazine unveils its coveted “30 under 30“, a list of 600 top-notch innovators under the age of 30 across 20 industries. This year, that list was jam-packed with names from across the Washington, D.C. metro area — from tech to food to media to policy.

To select the final list, the Forbes staff first sorts through the more than 15,000 nominations and passes them along to their 50-plus group of staff reporters and editors. From there, a group of 68 “A-list” judges, as Forbes calls them, appraise and evaluate the 20 categories. One 30 Under 30 alumnus judges each category, as well. With so many nominations, the acceptance rate for 30 Under 30 sits at just 4 percent.

DC Inno combed through this year’s list of 600 to find the D.C. area names of note. Below is this year’s findings:
