Metalogix – a D.C. software company providing content infrastructure management solutions for users of Microsoft SharePoint, Exchange and Cloud platforms – has gobbled up Idera’s SharePoint business. Idera is a Microsoft-Managed Partner based in Houston that focuses on SharePoint software. As part of the acquisition, Metalogix will gain Idera’s profitable SharePoint suite of SharePoint products, including backup and monitoring products SharePoint Backup and SharePoint Diagnostic Manager. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
One of Inc.’s 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies in 2012 and recognized last year as one the fastest growing companies in the D.C. area by the Washington Business Journal, Metalogix already has a solid foundation that the addition of Idera’s SharePoint business will only further. With more than 14,000 customers around the world, the D.C. company hopes to add about 1,000 more with this aquisition. But the main pull for Metalogix was acquiring what it calls the “fastest SharePoint backup and recovery platform.”
Metalogix CEO Steve Murphy made that clear, saying, “Today Metalogix is once again improving the use and performance of the Microsoft SharePoint content management platform with the industry’s most innovative and fastest backup and recovery software, which enables enterprise SharePoint administrators, IT executives and now business line professionals to quickly and easily backup and restore terabytes of content in minutes, with a few clicks, instead of taking hours or days.”
Murphy will host a public webinar Thursday Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. ET to discuss the future of Metalogix. But for now, Metalogix customers will now have access to all of Idera’s SharePoint products, and vice versa. That’s a big win for the SharePoint enterprise customers on both sides.
