There’s a new way to ride in style to New York City from D.C. Starting Friday, April 11, Royal Sprinter will drive choosy passengers to New York City in a luxury Mercedes bus tricked out with reclining leather seats, Wifi, cup holders, foot rests, cubbies and personal flat screens with DIRECTV. Expect a quiet ride, too, as each trip will only carry eight passengers from city to city.
Royal Sprinter is a new company and is based in Washington, D.C. It appears to have a fleet of two buses, which will leave from D.C. at 7 and 9:30 a.m. (and New York at 3 and 7 p.m.). Reservations must be made over the phone (202-590-0506) rather than online (for now?).
For those who travel to New York on the reg, this could be a great alternative to the train or those other buses. Tickets are just $90 one-way, which really isn’t that bad of a price point. Train tickets hover around the $40 – $90 points depending on when you book. The other D.C.-to-New York luxury bus, Vamoose Gold, charges $60/ride, and it is not as luxurious.
