After a month of competition and nearly 6,000 votes, Dispatch has claimed the title of Tech Madness champion.

Dispatch received more votes than any other company participating in Tech Madness. The Bloomington-based high-tech delivery startup received just under 57 percent of the votes in the championship round. Before facing off against Sezzle in the finals, it beat out larger Twin Cities tech businesses like Bind Benefits.

Founded in 2016, Dispatch targets companies that need to deliver products like auto parts, construction materials, paint and HVAC components to customer sites. The company’s tech lets suppliers orchestrate deliveries without owning a fleet of vehicles or employing drivers.

Less than a year after the company started, it raised $2.6 million from local and national investors that included Gopher Angels, Great North Labs and Revolution’s Rise of the Rest. Not long after, Dispatch closed on an additional $7.8 million in late 2018.

We started this competition with a bracket of 32 teams and one question: Which startups would you invest in? Through Tech Madness we hoped to create a friendly competition that highlighted some of the exciting tech companies that made up Minnesota’s startup scene.
